777 Challenge #2!

Thank you Fife Rover for tagging me in another 777 Challenge today! All this motivation is definitely keeping me grounded in writing. =)

The rules on this one are a little different:

Go to page 7 or 77 in your current manuscript. Go to line 7. Copy down the next 7 lines/sentences exactly as they are. Tag 7 other authors.

This is an excerpt from page 77 of my WIP The Broken Home

I felt like a caged animal, ready to gnaw its own leg off to escape. If Matt even suspected that I told someone the truth, he’d kill me for sure. He was probably standing outside the door, right now, listening, waiting for me to slip up.  I stared at it, contemplating the possibility. The very thought made my heart race, my palms sweat, my face go numb.

And what if I did tell her? What kind of help could she possibly offer? Surely she wouldn’t let Jacob stay with me after she found out the truth? I would have risked Matt finding out, risked my life for nothing. Telling her the truth just wasn’t an option.

And now for my seven tag-ees. =)

Jennifer Wagner

Ruth Barrett

Phil Torcivia

Maryellen Brady

Charlene A. Wilson

Wodke Hawkinson

Jeremy Laszlo

Just like yesterday, if you’ve been tagged and want to participate, please leave a link in the comment section so we can visit your writing. =)

777 Challenge

I received two tags yesterday in the 777 Challenge – one from Maryellen Brady and the other from Jen Wagner. Thanks ladies!

So what is the 777 Challenge?

Post 7 lines from page 7 of your current work in progress and then tag 7 other authors to do the same.

I slightly modified the challenge, simply because page 7 is already in my free preview. I went for page 8. I know…I’m such a rule breaker, teehee. ;-)

From my WIP The Broken Home:

I wasn’t really observing the restaurant though. I was really looking for Matt. He had a way of popping in to check on me, making sure of…what? I’m not sure. It varied. Some days, it was to make sure I wasn’t saying or doing anything to bring suspicion to him. Others, it was to make sure I wasn’t “hanging all over” some guy, not that I ever had a problem with infidelity; that was his department.

And now  for the 7 writer friends I’m tagging:

S.L. Pierce

Rachael Wade

Douglas Wickard

Vonda Norwood

G.A. Albrethsen

Troy Aaron Ratliff

Bradley Salters

For those that have been tagged and would like to participate, please post a link to your challenge so that we can read YOUR excerpt!
